About the role
- To oversee and manage the functional area to ensure high-quality service delivery, operational excellence, and compliance with internal and regulatory standards
- The role is responsible for achieving business targets, optimizing processes, strengthening risk controls, and developing team capabilities to support the organization’s overall goals
- Develop and maintain engagement with the BPO underwriting team
- Organize and lead underwriting training for the team
What the role is?
- Lead and manage the team to achieve departmental objectives, ensuring productivity, efficiency, accuracy and service quality
- Oversee daily operations and ensure delivery within defined service standards (e.g. TAT, accuracy, compliance)
- Review and approve key decisions within delegated authority, ensuring alignment with company policies and guidelines
- Drive process improvement and transformation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk management frameworks
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), identify gaps, and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g. distribution, compliance, operations, IT) to support business needs
- Provide coaching, training, and development to team members to build capability and succession pipeline
- Handle escalations and complex cases, providing guidance and resolution
- Support management reporting, audit requirements, and governance activities
What we look for?
- Minimum 10–15 years of relevant experience, preferably in insurance / Operations / Underwriting / New Business
- Proven experience in a managerial or leadership role with team management responsibility
- Strong track record in operational management, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement
- Experience in managing cross-functional projects
- Strong leadership in building high-performing teams
