About the role
This position is a key member of Financial Reporting Team. He or she will be primarily responsible for IFRS17 financial month end closing, analytics, and liaise with all relevant parties.
What the role is ?
- Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS 17 reporting and financial analysis, including journal entries, reconciliations, and management reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with Group and accounting standards
- Collaborate closely with Financial control sub-teams and Actuarial Department on financial result analyses and key drivers of IFRS 17 performance, including but not limited to investment-related impacts
- Prepare and review financial statements and reporting deliverables, and coordinate with external auditors for audit and review procedures
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial reporting standards, Group policies, and regulatory requirements to maintain accuracy, integrity, and operational efficiency
- Provide technical accounting support and guidance (i.e. IFRS 17, IFRS 9 & etc.), and other financial reporting matters
- Participate in the development and testing on user requirements of Financial Control Department for finance systems changes, including conducting and reviewing user acceptance testing (UAT), identifying issues, and ensuring timely resolution
- Provide support with IT, Actuarial, and other departments to identify and implement process or system improvements that enhance reporting efficiency and data quality
- Support Group financial reporting and regulatory submission, including but not limited to requirements from the Insurance Authority (IA), Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA), Hong Kong Risk Based Capital (HKRBC) and other relevant regulatory bodies
- Effectively work with team members, fostering skill development in reporting and system-related processes
- Handle Ad hoc requests directed by supervisors
Who we are looking for ?
- 8+ Years Big 4 Audit or Insurance accounting & Finance experience. Experience in IFRS17 financial reporting role in life insurance company
- Bachelor’s degree or above with major in Finance or Accounting; HKICPA, ACCA, or equivalent
- Knowledge and understanding on IFRS17/ HKFRS 17 is essential
- Strong system knowledge especially for Insurance related IFRS17 systems, and knowledge in end-to-end process workflow
- Good team player with the ability to work independently
- Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
- MS Excel, and general MS-Office skills are essential
- Excellent verbal and written skills with an ability to create high quality written products that are comprehensive, accurate and tailored to the audience
- Detail minded, responsible and proactively seek for solution
