What the role is ?
CTF Life is seeking a seasoned and commercially minded product development professional to join our Product Development Department in a senior leadership capacity. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced insurance product expert to lead the development, enhancement and governance of customer-centric, competitive and commercially viable insurance solutions, with an initial focus on Health, Critical Illness and Medical products.
As a key product development leader, the successful candidate will work closely with interview stakeholders to translate strategic product direction into sound product designs and successful market delivery. The incumbent will also provide technical leadership, strengthen internal product development capability and support CTF Life’s ambition to deliver value beyond insurance through innovation, strong execution and robust governance.
- Lead end-to-end product development, revamp and enhancement initiatives, covering product concept, benefit design, specifications, policy provisions, implementation requirements and launch readiness.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Health, Critical Illness and Medical products as primary focus.
- Develop innovative and customer-relevant product solutions that address market opportunities, healthcare trends, protection gaps and distribution feedback.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure product designs are customer-focused, competitive, profitable, compliant, operationally feasible and aligned with business priorities.
- Lead or support product approval papers, governance submissions, launch checklists, control assessments, implementation sign-offs and post-launch reviews.
- Monitor market intelligence, competitor movements, regulatory developments and healthcare ecosystem trends to identify product enhancement and innovation opportunities.
- Represent the Company in relevant industry taskforces, working groups or technical forums relating to product development, Health, Critical Illness or Medical topics.
- Lead, coach and develop product managers and product development professionals, while optimising resources across product initiatives.
Who we look for?
- University degree in Actuarial Science, Business, Finance, Insurance, Economics, Healthcare Management or a related disciplines.
- At least 15 years' experience in life insurance product development, preferably gained from a Hong Kong life insurer, reinsurer, consultancy or related financial services organisation.
- Strong hands-on experience in developing or managing Health, Critical Illness and Medical insurance products is essential.
- Proven track record in leading product launches, product revamps, benefit enhancements, medical repricing, regulatory updates or major cross-functional product initiatives.
- Strong understanding of the Hong Kong life insurance market, product governance, regulatory requirements and customer protection principles.
- Excellent analytical, commercial judgement, stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
- Strong governance mindset with attention to compliance, conduct risk, product risk, implementation quality and proper documentation.
- Good people and stakeholder management,
- Candidate with less experience will be considered as Associate Director.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese. Cantonese is preferred.
