What the role is?
- Actively support the team head in sourcing, identifying, researching, and conducting due diligence on alternative investments, including private equity, private debt, real estate, infrastructure, co-investments, contributing to investment opportunity identification.
- Oversee and coordinate due diligence processes with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring comprehensive documentation and compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Manage and oversee operational aspects of deal execution, including preparing and reviewing documents, overseeing KYC and legal paperwork, and ensuring efficient transaction processes.
- Monitor ongoing investments by gathering financial data, tracking portfolio company performance, and supporting valuation reviews.
- Manage cash flow processes, including capital calls and distributions, and oversee the cash position of the alternative investment portfolio to optimize liquidity.
- Expand, maintain and enhance a relationship management with external counterparties such as placement agents and investment managers
- Oversee asset valuation and reporting activities; assist with audit requests and documentation as needed.
- Ensure robust internal controls to maintain compliance with company standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines, proactively identifying and addressing potential risks.
- Prepare and present detailed reporting materials, such as investment memos, performance tables, and post-investment reports, for internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the preparation of materials for investment committee meetings, drafting and presenting preliminary recommendations to support decision-making.
- Guide junior team members in their tasks, fostering a collaborative environment, and perform ad-hoc responsibilities, such as preparing meeting minutes, loan arrangements, and managing operational duties.
What we look for?
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in alternative investments, portfolio management, or financial analysis, with demonstrated expertise in research, due diligence, or asset evaluation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related discipline; pursuit of professional qualifications such as CFA, CAIA, or CPA is preferred but not required
- Strong research and analytical skills, with attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to clearly articulate findings in both written and verbal form.
- Proven teamwork and emerging leadership abilities, with experience guiding junior team members and coordinating cross-functional projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with Excel. Bloomberg is an advantage but not required.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin preferred).
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
